Andy Cohen Is 'Feeling Better' Amid Coronavirus Battle, Plans 'WWHL' Return

On the mend! Andy Cohen gave a positive update on his health nearly two weeks after being diagnosed with the novel coronavirus.

“Happy to report I’m feeling better and am returning to @radioandysxm this morning, and will try to end your day with a smile when we begin [email protected] tonight featuring @neneleakes @lisarinna @mrjerryo!” the Bravo personality, 51, revealed via Instagram on Monday, March 30. “THANK YOU TO EVERYONE ON THE FRONT LINES OF COVID-19!”

Cohen quickly received an outpouring of support and love after sharing the optimistic development in his battle with COVID-19. Earlier this month, the radio host admitted that he was “putting a pin” in his many projects so that he could “focus on getting better” in the wake of receiving his test results.

“I want to thank all the medical professionals who are working tirelessly for all of us, and urge everybody to stay home and take care of themselves,” Cohen wrote after revealing his diagnosis.

As he continued to recover from the illness, the Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen host opened up about the biggest challenge he faced during his self-isolation: missing out on quality time with his 13-month-old son, Benjamin.

“I can’t see him, which is the very worst part,” Cohen said during an episode of SiriusXM’s Jeff Lewis Live days after going public with his diagnosis. “He’s great and his nanny [tested] negative.”

Cohen is one of many celebrities affected by the COVID-19 outbreak, along with Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson, who were the first famous faces to come forward about their coronavirus journeys. The couple, both 63, continued to keep fans posted on their health from Australia before returning to Los Angeles nearly three weeks after breaking the news of their diagnoses.

“We’re home now and, like the rest of America, we carry on with sheltering in place and social distancing,” the Cast Away star tweeted on Saturday, March 28. “Many, many thanks to everyone in Australia who looked after us. Their care and guidance made possible our return to the USA. And many thanks to all of you who reached out with well wishes. Rita and I so appreciate it.”

Andy Cohen: Being Away From My Son Is the ‘Worst’ Part of Coronavirus

Getting through it. Andy Cohen revealed the hardest part of his coronavirus journey after testing positive for the virus earlier this month.

“I’ll tell you what I know from the nanny cam and from video,” Cohen, 51, said during an episode of Sirius XM’s Jeff Lewis Live on Tuesday, March 24. “I can’t see him, which is the very worst part.”

The Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen host cannot be near his son, Benjamin, 13 months, due to his positive coronavirus diagnosis, but he knows he’s in good hands.

“He’s great and his nanny [tested] negative,” the Bravo host explained.

As for his current health, the Missouri native admitted that he’s been battling through his recovery as the virus is “working its way through my body.”

According to Cohen, he has gone through periods of having “horrible” symptoms during the illness, which include a lack of appetite.

“Two days ago, before I went to bed, I took a shower and I was walking into the shower and I looked at myself and said, ‘Holy s—t, you look great,’” Cohen told Lewis, joking that his aversion to food right now has helped him slim down. “I saw a picture of a pizza yesterday [and] I thought, ‘I can’t wait to eat pizza.’”

The talk show host added: “When I get better, I’m going to gain so much weight. It’s bound to happen.”

Cohen announced on Friday, March 20, that he had tested positive for the coronavirus.

“After a few days of self-quarantine, and not feeling great, I have tested positive for Coronavirus,” he wrote on Instagram, explaining that WWHL would no longer be filmed from his home as originally planned.

Before his COVID-19 diagnosis, the New York City resident revealed that he would work from home in order to keep his show going during the pandemic.

The first episode, which was set to air on Sunday, March 22, was supposed to include interviews with Jerry O’Connell, NeNe Leakes and Ramona Singer.

Andy Cohen Shades 'Chicago' Production, Broadway Musical 'RHOBH' Star Erika Jayne Leads

Andy Cohen went on a long rant about Chicago, the Broadway musical that Erika Jayne from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is currently headlining. The Bravo personality had good things to say about the reality show star but had less than stellar reviews for the production. Cohen was upset he wasn’t fully compensated for his tickets and dissed the cast for being too old.

What did Andy Cohen say?

On Monday’s (February 24) episode of Andy Cohen Live, the show’s host talked about his outing to see Jayne in the Broadway musical. The Watch What Happens Live host had rave reviews for Jayne.

“We went to go see Erika Jayne in Chicago,” Cohen said on his SiriusXM show. “That show has been open for 20-plus years, she’s packing them in dude. The place was full and they were there for her. I was so proud of her. And she’s playing Roxie which is one of the two leads.”

However, all the good things he said about the RHOBH star came crashing down when he shaded the production.

“The producers of Chicago are so cheap. It was four of us, they gave us two free tickets and then they made us pay for two. Do you know how much we’re promoting Chicago in the new season of Beverly Hills Housewives? Memo to those cheap producers: You need to comp. All the PR this ratter-tatter production of Chicago…,” Cohen added.

In between his digs to the producers of Chicago, he continued to emphasize that Jayne “was great” and “her dancing was great” as well. He also said that he was “happy to pay, but it’s the principle” of asking him to pay that upset him.

Cohen didn’t finish there, he then started going off on the cast and how much older they were for his taste.

Chicago has seen better days and no one is running to the Ambassador Theatre to see it, but people are going to see [Jayne]. The cast… is old, man. It’s been going for a while and they haven’t replaced people because I guess, maybe you can’t. Roxie’s love interest… he’s well in his 50s. It’s interesting,” Cohen continued.

The SiriusXM host also took a dig at the actress that plays Velma Kelly in the musical, Amra-Faye Wright.

“She hits every move, she’s great… she’s serving AARP realness,” he commented. “She’s serving Activia realness but she’s good… she’s good.”

On other Andy Cohen news…

Cohen also made news this week after it was announced that LeeAnne Locken was stepping down from The Real Housewives of Dallas. Following a season where she got married on TV and faced accusations of racism, Locken left the show.

The last time Cohen talked to Locken was during the season 4 reunion of RHOD. Their conversation was all about her racial slurs and that’s not how Cohen wants to remember her like. During his satellite radio show, he said he would like to converse with some time in the future.

“On a personal note to her, I wish that our last go-around on the air hadn’t been so contentious,” Cohen said. “I’m hoping that once the breeze has blown through she will come back and join me for a kiki at some point on Watch What Happens Live.”

Andy Cohen Live airs weekdays on SiriusXM’s Radio Andy channel.

Andy Ruiz Jr is ‘ready’ to fight Tyson Fury ‘if they pick me’ despite being schooled by Anthony Joshua last time out – The Sun

FORMER heavyweight world champion Andy Ruiz Jr has revealed he is "ready" to face WBC king Tyson Fury following his emphatic victory against Deontay Wilder.

The 30-year-old has admitted he was shocked by the Gypsy King's performance against the Bronze Bomber as he inflicted the first defeat of the American's professional career.

Ruiz Jr – who lost the WBA, WBO and IBF belts in his last outing to Anthony Joshua – has declared Wilder's loss reminded him of his victory against AJ.

And he has stated he would love a crack at the Gypsy King, despite the Brit expected to face the 2008 Olympic bronze medallist in a trilogy bout later this year.

Speaking to PBC on Fox, the Mexican-American said: I think Tyson Fury did an awesome job. He did everything that he had and his ability, his long reach and all that and he’s the man right now.

"I had flashbacks to my fight [with Joshua] on June 1. It was kind of similar, it was in the same round as well so it was pretty crazy but good for Tyson Fury.

"I think Tyson Fury did what he had to do, he stuck to the game-plan. I’m pretty sure he could do it again and I could do it too so, if they pick me, I’m here and I’m ready."

He added: "(Wilder's) legs were weak, they were wobbly, even other punches that he tried to throw, they didn’t have a lot of power so I think Tyson Fury did an awesome job.

"I was really shocked because I thought Deontay Wilder was going to win. I just want a shot with Tyson Fury as well."

Ruiz Jr – who recently showed off his new teeth – then stated that he could potentially face Joshua in their own trilogy in 2020.

Asked about a third fight with AJ, he said: "There’s something like that but hopefully we can negotiate and fight by the end of this year."

Before he moved on to another possible clash, as he stated: "Everybody is talking about [Luis] Ortiz. Me and Ortiz would be a great fight.

"If not, I don’t know if Tyson Fury is looking for somebody. ‘I’ve just just got to get a fight and then I want to fight again."
