Arsenal star Sead Kolasinac’s wife held by police at airport for bringing stun gun into the UK – The Sun

ARSENAL star Sead Kolasniac's wife was held by police at an airport after bringing a stun gun into the UK.

Anxious Bella Kolasinac, 27, bought the weapon for protection following a knife attack on her husband and Gunners team-mate Mesut Ozil in the street last year.

Security fears saw her flee to Germany soon after and she obtained a legal permit there to carry an “electro shocker”.

But she did not realise the powerful device was illegal in Britain — and yesterday The Sun told how she was held by Border Force officers at London Biggin Hill Airport when it was found in her luggage.

Bella sobbed she had bought the device for self- defence and said she had sought permission to import it.

'MISUNDERSTANDING'

She could have been jailed for six months for importing a banned weapon but was let off with a caution after the flight from Frankfurt on Sunday.

A spokesman for Kolasinac, 26, said: “It was all a misunderstanding. The electro shocker was still in its packaging and didn’t have any batteries.

“Bella was able to prove she sent emails to the flight operators to make sure she could import it.

“Unfortunately, she was in the air with her phone off when she received an email saying the device was illegal.

“The airline had informed customs officers that she had the shocker before the plane landed.

“She didn’t declare it because she didn’t think she had done anything wrong. These devices can be carried legally in a bag in Germany if the owner has a permit.

"She’s obviously very security conscious after what happened to Sead and Mesut.”

German-born defender Kolasinac bravely tackled two helmeted robbers who pounced on Ozil’s Mercedes 4×4 in Golders Green, North London, last July.

The unarmed player suffered slight cuts as he stood up to one of the thugs, who was armed with a foot-long spike.

Both attackers admitted robbery and one got ten years’ jail.

An Arsenal official said of the stun gun: “This is a private matter and we will not be commenting.”

Kolasinac’s spokesman denied a cosh was also in Bella’s baggage.

Arsenal and England legend Kenny Sansom is fighting for life in hospital after ‘being beaten up in drunken row’ – The Sun

ARSENAL legend Kenny Sansom is fighting for life after allegedly being battered in a drunken row.

The ex-England star, 61, who has battled alcohol problems in the past, reportedly fell and seriously injured his head in the horror.

Kenny has been unable to help police with their enquiries while having treatment in the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital, Mail Online reports.

His family are said to be keeping a vigil by his bedside.

A statement on his Twitter tonight said: "Kenny is currently ill in hospital. He is being well cared for and does not have COVID-19.

“Kenny’s family and close friends kindly ask the media to respect his and their privacy, plus that of the healthcare workers treating Kenny.”

Kenny has suffered a string of health problems linked to his alcohol addiction since retiring from football in the 1990s.

The footballer was left homeless at one stage after his marriage broke down and he also suffered from depression and suicidal thoughts.

BATTLE WITH BOOZE

In 2016, he revealed he was "ready to die" as he admitted a heartbreaking defeat in his battle against the booze.

He said at the time: "I want to kill myself. I don't feel like I've got anything left to live for.

"I want to forget my life. I can't handle life any more. If I could end it now, I would."

Kenny, who once earned £1,200 a week, also admitted he had been borrowing money from pals and has just £50 to his name as his addiction controlled his life.

After he was pictured sleeping rough on a park bench, former clubs and teammates flooded Kenny with support.

In 2017, former Arsenal striker Niall Quinn paid for his ex-teammate to attend a rehab clinic in Ireland.

In March this year, Kenny offered his support a project providing shelter and company for young people at risk of homelessness in Liverpool.

He said: "Having a home is so important, but you need people.

"I am on my own. I am not happy. My phone does not ring. People need people. But if no one is there, who do you talk to?"

The legend won 86 caps for England and was the most-capped left-back until Ashley Cole in the early 2000s.

He made 394 appearances at Arsenal between 1980 and 1988 and also had spells at Newcastle, QPR, Coventry, Everton and Watford.

5.30pm Arsenal news LIVE: Tagliafico wants transfer, Upamecano boost, Partey LATEST, Icardi’s son wears Gunners’ shirt – The Sun

ARSENAL fans are waiting patiently for news on Project Restart as the Premier League aims to get back on its feet.

And the Gunners are also keen to press ahead with their summer transfer plans as Mikel Arteta plots an overhaul.

Follow all the very latest updates and gossip from the Emirates below…

  • LOS CAUSE

Arsenal loanee Dani Ceballos wants to return to Real Madrid to see out his contract.

Gunners' boss Mikel Arteta was reportedly keen to extend the Spain playmaker's stay into next season after the 23-year-old's form and fitness improved dramatically.

But Ceballos told Deportes Cuatro: “I am happy and I have a contract with Real Madrid.”

  • JACK'S' AXE WARNING

Jack Wilshere has revealed that Unai Emery advised him to leave Arsenal despite having a new contract offer on the table.

When the Spanish coach took over from Arsene Wenger in 2018, the England midfielder was enjoying a rare injury-free spell in the Gunners side.

Staying in North London was his preference and he was ready to put pen to paper on a new deal, which was largely based on staying fit and making appearances, but ended up moving to West Ham.

But Wilshere told the club's In Lockdown podcast: “I got offered a new deal and I wasn't really happy with it, but Arsene was doing everything he could for me.

“We got to a point where I'd almost agreed it then the news came that Arsene was leaving, and I just thought, 'How can I sign a new deal that is based on appearances with a manager who I don't know?'

“When Emery came in I wanted to sit down and have a conversation with him, we did and he said, 'Basically if I were you I would leave – you're not in my starting XI.'

“He had plans to buy a midfielder, I think he bought [Lucas] Torreira, and I wasn't in his plans.”

  • MOURINHO IN BUND FIGHT

Jose Mourinho urged his fellow managers to “stay home and watch Bundesliga” if they do not want the Premier League to resume.

The Tottenham boss made it clear he is itching to return to the dugout during the League Managers' Association meeting.

According to The Mirror, Mourinho took a cheeky swipe at the managers that do not want football to return yet.

He allegedly told them: “If you don't want to play, stay home and watch Bundesliga!”

  • JUL IN THE GUNNERS' CROWN

Arsenal are set to step up their chase for Julian Draxler, according to reports.

The Gunners tried to sign the German playmaker before he made the switch to Paris Saint-Germain in 2017.

Now 26, Draxler has made 19 appearances in all competitions for PSG this season, with a recent foot injury hampering his progress before the coronavirus lockdown.

According to Fussball Transfers, Mikel Arteta is set to ramp up his attempts to sign the 2014 World Cup winner.

  • FRENCH MISS

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger wanted Nicolas Anelka and Thierry Henry as a ferocious forward partnership at Highbury.

But the pair missed each other by a matter of months in 1999, when Anelka signed for Real Madrid for £22million.

And Ian Wright has revealed that Wenger was furious because he had a big plan: “I just wanted to make my runs through lines and to stay as central as I could.

“He was a pleasure to play with because he was so skilful, he was so quick, he had everything. He could drop in field.

“Arsene was trying to get him and Thierry together but obviously Nicolas left.

“He would have been able to drop into those areas and do unbelievable things with how quick his feet were.”

  • HOSTILE TIMES

Believe it or not, relations between Wenger and Mourinho have thawed since he did this.

  • GRAN'S HOME COMFORTS

  • BENDTNER’S GAMBLING

Nicklas Bendtner added: “However in the past I played in really big games.

“One night in London things got out of control, and they could have ended up really wrong.

“It ended up not so badly. It was something I could have lived with.

“But from that night on, playing in high-stake games has been over for me.”

  • NICK IT IN THE BUD

Nicklas Bendtner has revealed he has blown £6MILLION playing poker.

The former Arsenal striker, 32, said he has been playing Texas Hold'Em since he was 19.

Bendtner said: “I have lost lots of money – a totally unrealistic amount.

“It is difficult to put an amount on how much I have lost, but it is around 50 million Danish crowns – £6m.

“I wouldn't say I've had a gambling problem at all. I've always been able to control it.”

  • TOUGH CHOICES

Jack Wilshere has revealed his thought process on leaving Arsenal when Unai Emery arrived in 2018.

The West Ham midfielder said: “They didn't announce Emery for a while and the club was going in a different direction.

“I had conversations with my dad, my family, my wife, my agent around that time about waiting to see who came in [as manager].

“To see if he liked me because of the way the contract was set up.

“It seemed like it went on for it forever and then as soon as Emery said to me, 'Look, you're not in my starting XI’, I was like, 'Okay, right, I need to leave'.

“It was very difficult as I said, it felt like Arsenal was my family.”

  • TAG A MATE

Arsenal’s long-term transfer target Nicolas Tagliafico has reportedly told Ajax he wants a move to chase “bigger dreams” in a top league.

The Argentina ace has evolved into one of Europe’s best left-backs since arriving at the Johan Cruyff Arena in 2018.

He said recently: “It’s always been my goal to play in the best competitions, at a top club.

“Ajax is an amazing club, but the Eredivisie is not an amazing competition. One should always have bigger dreams.

“I’m still working on my fitness. I need to be as fit as possible in case I’ll move to a new club.

“The pre-season will start in August, so two more months. But if I’ll leave, it’s still uncertain.”

  • AGENT WANDA

Mauro Icardi’s wife Wanda Nara fuelled rumours of a potential move to Arsenal as she posted a snap of their son wearing a Gunners shirt.

The Argentinian striker is currently on-loan at Paris Saint-Germain from Inter Milan but speculation is mounting he could be involved with a huge swap deal involving Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang going to the San Siro.

The Gabon forward, 30, is about to enter the final year of his contract at the Emirates, and it has been claimed Arsenal have already tested the waters with Inter about an exchange.

Now Icardi’s partner Wanda, who is also his agent, has stirred up talk of the sensational transfer by sharing a picture of her blonde-haired boy eating a donut while in an Arsenal top to her 6.5 million Instagram followers.

  • IN DEM-AND

Barcelona will reportedly let Arsenal target Ousmane Dembele leave for just £53million this summer.

The Spanish giants are prepared to cut their losses on the 22-year-old despite signing him for £135.5m in 2017.

According to Marca, Barcelona will let the Frenchman leave in a cut-price deal to free up space in their squad.

Should he sell for £53m, the Spanish giants would have made a huge £82.5million loss on the 22-year-old.

Dembele has been heavily linked with a move away from the Nou Camp after starting just three LaLiga games this season.

He has racked up a total of 19 goals in 72 games since he joined from German giants Borussia Dortmund.

  • BACK FOR DRAX

Arsenal are set to step up their chase for Julian Draxler, according to reports.

The Gunners tried to sign the German playmaker before he made the switch to Paris Saint-Germain in 2017.

Now 26, Draxler has made 19 appearances in all competitions for PSG this season, with a recent foot injury hampering his progress before the coronavirus lockdown.

According to Fussball Transfers, Mikel Arteta is set to ramp up his attempts to sign the 2014 World Cup winner.

  • GALLIC SHRUG

  • EMPTY HANDED

Premier League clubs are preparing to play the ENTIRETY of next season behind closed doors and face huge financial losses.

Sporting authorities have been warned that all football in England's top-four leagues could be played in front of empty stadiums until a vaccine is created.

According to the Mirror, immunisation could take at least a year to be developed and then distributed which would be disastrous for many teams.

The report adds that there are fears across the 91 Football League clubs that the total loss in income would exceed £1billion.

Many sides in both the Prem and the EFL rely heavily on ticket sales and matchday revenue; Manchester United alone rake in £111million per season.

Despite that, top-flight clubs are likely to survive, as they make a huge proportion of their money from TV rights.

  • CROCKS OF GOLD

Injury-prone former Arsenal team-mates Danny Welbeck and Jack Wilshere are surprise new entrants in the Sunday Times Young Sport Rich List.

The pair are more likes crocks of gold as it seems they have simply got money for nothing.

Both are worth £18million despite having played just 448 minutes in the Premier League BETWEEN THEM this season.

Welbeck, 29, now at Watford, suffered a hamstring injury after just two minutes of the match against Tottenham earlier this season.

He has completed just one Premier League game this season.

Wilshere, 28, has not even managed that for West Ham, with a groin injury among the things that have curtailed his playing time this term.

  • MORNING, GUNNERS FANS

Thomas Partey’s Ghana team-mate Kasim Nuhu reckons his pal would relish playing in the “best league in the world” by signing for Arsenal.

He said: “Atletico Madrid is a very good club so Partey is playing one of the biggest clubs in the world and Arsenal are also one of the biggest.

“For me, it is his decision because playing for Atletico Madrid is the same as playing for Arsenal.

“The two teams always make the same category in the league, fighting for the third and fourth place to play in Champions League.

“But as we all know the Premier League is the best league in the world so if he joins Arsenal I will be happy for him.”

Meanwhile, Mauro Icardi's wife Wanda Nara fuelled rumours of a potential move to Arsenal as she posted a snap of their son wearing a Gunners shirt.

The Argentinian striker is currently on-loan at Paris Saint-Germain from Inter Milan but speculation is mounting he could be involved with a huge swap deal involving Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang going to the San Siro.

Now Icardi’s partner Wanda, who is also his agent, has stirred up talk of the sensational transfer by sharing a picture of her blonde-haired boy eating a donut while in an Arsenal top to her 6.5 million Instagram followers.

The youngster is in possession of the red and white Puma shirt that Mikel Arteta’s men wore last season.

Finally,Valencia are reportedly keen on signing Arsenal star Bukayo Saka.

AllNigeriaSoccer claims the versatile left-sider could be heading to Spain this summer.

Saka has filled in various positions for Arsenal this season and wants guarantees over his playing time at the Emirates.

  • ON THIS DAY

It was two years ago to the day that Arsene Wenger said goodbye to Arsenal fans for the last time.

Le Professeur's Gunners won 1-0 at Huddersfield to clinch three points in his final match in charge before leaving the club.

Wenger stayed behind and embraced fans before leaving the ground.

  • NOU WAY BACK

Arsenal, Chelsea and Man Utd have been given a boost with Barcelona reportedly ready to loan out Ousmane Dembele.

AS claims the winger has no future at the Nou Camp.

And Spanish chiefs will green light a loan move this summer.

They are also ready to listen to swap deals or bids of over £53million.

  • BUK THE TREND

Valencia are reportedly keen on signing Arsenal star Bukayo Saka.

AllNigeriaSoccer claims the versatile left-sider could be heading to Spain this summer.

Saka has filled in various positions for Arsenal this season and wants guarantees over his playing time at the Emirates.

  • BITTER RUM

Timo Werner has irked Bayern Munich after the Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal target insisted he is not keen on a Bavarian switch.

Werner originally said: “Bayern are a huge club. But if a move were to become an issue at some point, I would be more tempted by a move abroad.”

Stunned Bayern chief Karl-Heinz Rummenigge responded in Bild: “I’m actually no longer astonished at anything.

“But I have never seen a player make such a statement in response to rumours in public.”

  • TOUCH & GO'

Arsenal expect to miss out on signing Angel Gomes, according to reports.

The Manchester United youngster, 19, has failed to sign a new contract at Old Trafford, which expires at the end of the season.

His agent, Pini Zahavi, has reportedly held talks with Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia over a switch to West London.

Gomes is seen as one of the most talented youngsters in English football, after winning the Under-17 World Cup with England in 2017.

But at 5ft 3in, his slight build has seen him lag behind team-mates Brandon Williams and Mason Greenwood in getting first-team football under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

  • GUNNER HAPPEN?

Mauro Icardi's wife Wanda Nara fuelled rumours of a potential move to Arsenal as she posted a snap of their son wearing a Gunners shirt.

The Argentinian striker is currently on-loan at Paris Saint-Germain from Inter Milan but speculation is mounting he could be involved with a huge swap deal involving Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang going to the San Siro.

Arsenal in talks over app that allows fans to send cheers and jeers to stadium during matches from their sofa – The Sun

CROWD noises could be broadcast inside stadiums via fans sat on their sofas when football returns from the coronavirus pandemic.

German tech company hack-CARE have developed a mobile phone app, MyApplause, that is reportedly under consideration by Arsenal, Manchester City and Liverpool.

It works by giving fans four options to transmit a noise that will resonate across the stadium as the game pans out.

A cheer, jeer, applause or whistle noise can be made with the app claiming it has the capacity for up to one million viewers.

And they reckon a minimal delay of only a tenth of a second comes between the button being pressed and the noise being transmitted, making for instant reactions akin to a real game.

Jurgen Kreuz of hack-CARE told Sportsmail that the company wants to generate tangible interest from major teams before pitching their idea to the Premier League.

Clubs would not need to pay for the technology if they offer future incentives to the app creator, while the cost to fans stands at around £1 each.

Broadcasters are said to be considering their own atmosphere replicas ahead of football's return behind closed doors.

A "virtual" crowd option could be available on Sky Sports along with the "natural" silence games will be played against.

But MyApplause is seeking to add a level of realism by tailoring volume levels between home and away fans' requests.

United miss out, Arsenal fall to 12th: ALTERNATIVE Premier League

The ALTERNATIVE Premier League table: French boffins devise a new ‘fairer’ formula for deciding leagues that finish prematurely… so how does your team fare if the season has to be cancelled?

  • There is uncertainty over whether the Premier League campaign can finish
  • As a result, a number of methods of deciding the table have been proposed
  • L’Equipe published their own methodology and Ligue 1 table on Thursday
  • Sportsmail used their system to figure out how the Premier League would look

As doubts grow about the viability of playing out the rest of the Premier League season, a number of methods have been mooted to complete the campaign.

There are those who would take the table at the halfway stage – when everybody had played each other once – and simply double the points totals.

Others think the fairest method would be to go on a points per game basis to work out how the campaign should conclude.

There are some who think it is best to just take the table as it stands.

Sportsmail has used a new methodology to put together a finished Premier League table

It would not be a good outcome for Manchester United as they seek a Champions League place

On Thursday morning, French newspaper L’Equipe came up with their own method of working out the Ligue 1 table.

It uses all of the matches – and therefore data – available, but does away with the ‘injustice’ of how the fixture list has fallen for a given team.

A single result against a team stands. But playing a club twice leads to different outcomes, as explained in the methodology.

Your points taken from results against clubs you have played twice are halved.

A pair of wins results in three points, a win and a draw in two and a win and a loss in 1.5 points. Similarly, two draws equals a point, a draw and a loss is worth 0.5 and, unsurprisingly, two defeats is worth nothing.

As L’Equipe put it, it has the advantage of giving the same weight to results obtained for a team against each of the 19 opponents they have played.

While reports now suggest PSG will be crowned champions by using the fixed table, the alternative was interesting.

Applying it to the Premier League was a combined effort between Sportsmail and Opta’s data wizards. And while a lot of the Premier League has come out similarly, there have been some surprising final positions.

For example, Arsenal would slide down the table. While they have had a difficult campaign, no one would expect them to finish in the bottom half.

Premier League leaders Liverpool would be happy with the outcome of Sportsmail’s maths

How Sportsmail’s Premier League table would look using L’Equipe’s methodology, based on a 19-game total – the points totals have been doubled to reflect a typical Premier League season

THE METHODOLOGY

Two wins v same opponent: 3 points

One win, one draw v same opponent: 2 points

One win, one loss v same opponent: 1.5 points

Two draws v same opponent: 1 point

One draw, one loss v same opponent: 0.5 points

Two defeats v same opponent: 0 points

If you’ve only played one game v an opponent, that result stands.

But the L’Equipe method has brought about that outcome. They drop from ninth to 12th below Crystal Palace, Burnley and Newcastle, for their worst finish since 1994-95.

Palace finish ninth, jumping up two places, and there’s a boost for Newcastle too.

Meanwhile, Manchester United would miss out on a place in the Champions League again. They would be stuck in the same place they are in the Premier League, fifth behind Chelsea.

The top four would be the same as it currently is, although the gap between City and Leicester would tighten to just two points.

And Liverpool would break the Premier League record for points collected in a single season. They would have 109, nine more than City achieved in 2017-18.

Leicester would receive the Champions League place that their campaign has deserved

There would be frustration for Spurs and Jose Mourinho as they would not qualify for Europe

There would also be no European football for Spurs next season – just two campaigns after reaching the Champions League final – as they would finish eighth.

Meanwhile, Wolves and Sheffield United could look forward to European tours, depending on what is decided about the FA Cup.

While the entire top eight would remain in the same positions according to this method, there would be huge differences at the bottom.

It would lead to a celebration for Bournemouth, who would climb out of the relegation zone and secure another season of Premier League football.

Despite being bumped up, there would be no second season in the Premier League for Aston Villa, who would finish 18th.

The real blow, though, would be dealt to Watford. They have undergone a mini-revival under the stewardship of Nigel Pearson.

Bournemouth would have reason to celebrate as they would miss out on relegation

Yet their results would see them collect just 32 points all season. That would mean they would slide into the relegation zone and finish 19th.

Unsurprisingly, current basement boys Norwich would not have a reprieve and would still be bottom of the league.

There would also be disappointing outcomes for Everton – dropping two places – and Brighton – falling one – while West Ham and Southampton would each go up one spot.

PS: For those wondering about the Championship – West Brom would win the league on 89 points while Leeds would go up in second on 85. Fulham on 79, Nottingham Forest on 77, Brentford on 76, and Preston on 74 would make up the play-off places.

But Watford, who have been on a good run, would drop into the relegation zone and go down

Basement boys Norwich City would still be bottom of the Premier League table

Arsenal and Chelsea in transfer fight for Lille centre-back Gabriel in £30m deal with Arteta desperate for defender – The Sun

ARSENAL and Chelsea are reportedly set to battle it out for Lille centre-back Gabriel Magalhaes in the summer as both clubs look to bring in a defender.

The 22-year-old Brazilian is almost certain to leave the French club in the upcoming transfer window following an impressive season in Ligue 1.

The Gunners are known to be admirers of Gabriel, with boss Mikel Arteta desperate to bolster his leaky defence.

And Arsenal could decide to step up their pursuit of the player after it was reported that Dayot Upamecano has allegedly agreed to join Bayern Munich at the end of the season.

Frank Lampard meanwhile is also a fan of the defender, with it claimed he is targeting a double raid on Lille for Gabriel and striker Victor Osimhen.

According to Le10Sport, the player will be allowed to leave for a fee in the region of £30million.

They state that the London rivals are both interested in Gabriel, with his future to be decided within the next few weeks.

But they claim that as well as facing competition from Leicester in the race to secure his services, Everton remain in pole position.

It has been revealed that the Toffees have held talks with Gabriel, with Carlo Ancelotti desperate to bring him to Goodison Park.

The French news outlet has confirmed that Everton have an offer on the table, but Gabriel is yet to decide himself where he wants to be playing next campaign.

They have even said that he has visited the facilities of the Merseyside club as Everton are left waiting to see if they have done enough to convince him to join.

Prior to the coronavirus crisis cancelling the Ligue 1 season, Gabriel had featured in 34 games in all competition for Lille.

Edouard has scored 27 goals in 45 games in all competitions for the Hoops this season, bagging 19 assists along the way.

7am Arsenal news LIVE: Aubameyang told to leave club, players willing to accept deferral.. but not pay cut – The Sun

ARSENAL are preparing for a return of Premier League football, but Mikel Arteta admits they have a number of transfer plans to choose from depending on how the coronavirus crisis turns out.

And eyes will be on the future of captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang after the Gabonese FA president called on him to leave the club.

Get all the latest Gunners news and gossip here…

  • MORNING ARSENAL FANS,

Jack Wilshere admits his move to West Ham “hasn't worked out”.

Wilshere, 28, has made SIXTEEN appearances for the Hammers since joining them from Arsenal — where he snubbed a deal — in the summer of 2018.

He has not played since October because of a groin problem and his whole career has been hampered by a succession of injuries.

The midfielder, who signed a three-year deal at the Hammers as a free agent said: “It hasn’t worked out for me, I’ll be honest.”

Arsenal players are willing to take a wage deferral, reports have claimed.

But The Athletic say Gunners stars demand that any player who takes one and is sold this summer is guaranteed to receive that money back.

Arsenal have also asked their players to donate a week’s wages to help cover the salaries of lower-paid staff to protect all jobs at the club during the coronavirus crisis.

And Thierry Henry has been hailed as the greatest player to ever grace the Premier League after reducing “top-class opponents into helpless also-rans,” says Alan Smith.

  • TRIPPING UP

Arsenal target Dwight McNeil has been warned by former Spurs defender Kieran Trippier about moving to a big club too soon.

Trippier is now at Atletico Madrid and has impressed in his first season in La Liga but he recalls some of his early struggles at White Hart Lane.

He told the Burnley Express: “Dwight has burst onto the scene, and when he trained with us last season for England he was brilliant.

“He's got to stay focused, keep performing well while he's young, and his time will come. I'd say don't rush anything, just keep playing.

“If I was him I'd stay put and keep playing games. Sometimes it can be difficult when you go to another club.”

  • IRON WIL

Former Arsenal star Jack Wilshere admits his move to West Ham “hasn't worked out”.

Wilshere, 28, has made SIXTEEN appearances for the Hammers since joining them from Arsenal — where he snubbed a deal — in the summer of 2018.

He has not played since October because of a groin problem and his whole career has been hampered by a succession of injuries.

The midfielder, who signed a three-year deal at the Hammers as a free agent said: “It hasn’t worked out for me, I’ll be honest.

“It hasn’t gone the way I wanted it to. I’ve missed too much football, I haven’t played enough games.

“I want to get my career back on track, get playing games week in, week out and start to feel like a footballer again.”

  • THE GREATEST?

Thierry Henry has been hailed as the greatest player to ever grace the Premier League after reducing “top-class opponents into helpless also-rans,” says Alan Smith.

The French star moved to the Gunners from Juventus in 1999 as a winger but was transformed into a fearsome forward under Arsene Wenger’s tutelage.

He went on to become the club’s all-time top goalscorer with 228 over his two spells with the North London side.

Only five other players have scored more than his 175 in the Premier League and he will always be remembered as one of the greatest strikers to grace the top-flight.

And according to another ex-Arsenal legend, he is not only the best forward – he is the finest player overall.

Sky Sports pundit Alan Smith, who bagged 115 times for the Gunners and won two League titles, said: “Henry is the best player I have ever seen ply his trade in this country.”

  • TERR-IFIC

ARSENAL have ensured hot prospect Emile Smith Rowe stays fit while on loan at Huddersfield by sending him a Wattbike.

The 19-year-old midfielder's loan deal with the Terriers ends on June 30 but after a successful spell in the Championship it is likely he will stay there for the remainder of the season when it resumes following the coronavirus crisis.

The Gunners starlet – who arrived at Huddersfield on a loan deal in the January transfer window – told Football London that his main aim is to win a place in Mikel Arteta’s squad, after being part of the first-team for the last two campaigns.

He revealed he has been taking additional fitness classes with the Gunners on top of his work with Huddersfield to keep his fitness levels high during lockdown.
