GMB: Edwina Currie stuns fans as they spot ‘mystery man’ during interview ‘Who is that?’

Good Morning Britain has been working hard to bring original content and exclusive guests to the show since the UK’s lockdown. Every day, many panellists are brought onto the ITV show via video link, and today was no different. This morning saw hosts Kate Garraway and Ben Shephard speaking to Adrian Chiles and Edwina Currie.

However, in the middle of the interview, Ben and Kate noticed a man was descending the stairs which were situated behind Edwina.

Kate pointed out: “Edwina, I think a member of your household has just come downstairs.

“You might want to check they are dressed because they might not realise they’re going to be live to the nation!”

As everyone on the phone call laughed, Ben pried: “Who’s that lurking behind you?”

  • Martin Lewis warning on bad mortgage holiday practices

Edwina responded, chuckling: “That is former detective super intendant John Jones from the MET – who had his birthday yesterday.”

Positioning her head in front of the camera to cover him up, she added: “I’m kind of trying to hide him!”

“Yes, he looks very suspicious lurking behind you,” Ben added. “I’m assuming he was never undercover because he’s pretty useless so far!”

Kate pried further, demanding answers: “What is going on? Why is he there, Edwina?”

Prompting the former politician to respond: “I don’t think he understands what Skype is all about.”

Kate queried: “Does he think it’s a telephone call, and he’s strangely invisible?” to which the man shouted: “Yes!”

The hosts then pushed past this hiccup, and went back to Adrian – who clarified things for viewers, as he pointed out: “I don’t think Edwina mentioned: She’s actually married to that man!”

Fans of the show were beside themselves, as they spoke out on Twitter, with one writing: “Bloke coming down the stairs looking dishevelled in Edwina Currie’s house, hope it’s her husband #GMB.”

“Edwina Curry bloke sneaking down the stairs!! #gmb @GMB,” added a third.

With a fourth announcing: “Edwina Curry looking guilty as charged #GMB #goodmorningbritain @GMB,” alongside a slew of suggestive emojis.

Earlier in the show, Iain Dale dropped a blunder himself, as he made a lewd comment during his chat with the hosts.

“Because if there’s one thing she’s taught me over the years, is that if the caravan’s a-rocking: Don’t come a-knocking!”

Ben shouted: “No, Iain no!” No, no!”

Piers Morgan: GMB host branded a ‘total b*****d’ by Kirstie Allsopp as Twitter row worsens

Good Morning Britain host Piers Morgan, 54, took to Twitter and hit out at Kirstie Allsopp, 48, after she took aim at being trolled following the coronavirus pandemic. The Channel 4 presenter previously made the decision to move her family to Devon to self-isolate after her partner Ben Andersen tested positive for coronavirus.

In view of her 411,000 Twitter followers, Kirstie wrote: “During this time of national crisis many families had difficult choices to make in a rush, with minimum information.

“But we did what we thought was sensible and we did not break any rules or regulations that existed at the time.”

The property expert later hit out at being trolled for moving her family between homes, and was called out by GMB presenter Piers.

“Kirstie, you’re rich, privileged & isolating in a lavish country home with your family,” Piers wrote in view of his 7.1 million followers.

  • Piers Morgan fury over change to coronavirus lockdown advice ‘putti…

“Maybe stop making this crisis about your struggle with trolls & direct your energy into rallying support for NHS workers risking their lives for us all in very dangerous circumstances?”

The TV star was left furious, and called Piers a “total b*****d” for retweeting her message to his millions of followers.

She tweeted: “You total b*****d there was NO need to Retweet that to your millions of followers, it was totally unnecessary and unkind thing to do.”

Kirstie previously explained that she did not flee to the family’s holiday home after they became sick.

She told Metro: “We thought, what do we do? Do we go to the place which already has food in the freezer, already has stuff, you know, I got more loo roll in this house.

“I don’t need to buy more loo roll. I’m kind of a classic, eldest, first child and incredibly organised.”

The Channel 4 presenter added: “So I didn’t need to go out and buy more paracetamol or take anything from anybody else. I have all that I need here.

“So when we got this obviously worrying diagnosis, we came to the place where we were safest where the dog could be walked, without going outside.”

Yesterday, Kirstie spoke live from her home in Devon, where she got into an on-air row with Piers over his “anger” during the COVID-19 outbreak.

Kirstie claimed it was important to be “calm and sensible” with the nation in lockdown – but Piers reminded her that “people are going to die”.

The pair became embroiled in a tense stand-off but the GMB music began to play while Kirstie was trying to make a point.

Piers asked: “You don’t want me to challenge government ministers about this nonsensical farcical mixed message?”

  • Piers Morgan FURIOUS at MPs’ plan to close parliament

Kirstie replied: “If you are too angry…” but was unable to finish her sentence.

Piers claimed that it was not intentional but they had to go to an advert break.

He said: “We didn’t play that deliberately there, Kirstie. We’ve run out of time. I don’t like cutting her off like that.”

This is not the first time the presenters have been involved in a heated exchange.

Both Piers and Kirstie have been going back and forth on Twitter in tense discussions over the coronavirus outbreak this month.

Ruth Langsford reveals hubby Eamonn Holmes ‘has another woman on his mind’

This Morning host Ruth Langsford, 60, has revealed husband Eamonn Holmes, 60, has been taking exercise tips from none other than British actress Elizabeth Hurley, 54. In a candid new interview, the former admitted her other half has been “bending over backwards” for the model after recently meeting at a lunch.

The This Morning presenter explained that Liz has been providing tips for Eamonn to help combat his back pain.

“Every morning Eamonn wakes up, he has another woman on his mind – Elizabeth Hurley,” Ruth explained to The Mirror.

The TV veteran has even resorted to doing squats while brushing his teeth in the morning.

“Eamonn and Liz met at a recent lunch, and now he is literally bending over backwards for her,” Ruth admitted.

  • Louise Minchin reveals new move away from BBC Breakfast

“Comparing notes about backache, Liz has convinced him that a really effective way of strengthening his lower back was to squat while brushing his teeth.”

She added: “Carried out repeatedly, day after day, she says it has helped her tremendously. Good job it’s only me who can see what he looks like as he does this.”

It comes as Eamonn previously underwent a double hip replacement in 2016 after suffering debilitating pain for 25 years.

Speaking to the same publication, Eamonn said: “Ruth’s face was the first thing I saw. I said, ‘If this is Heaven, you’re the angel that I want’.”

It took up to 10 weeks for the This Morning host to fully recover from the operation.

Meanwhile, the ITV broadcaster took to Twitter to express his fears of contracting coronavirus.

It comes after a recent study suggested those with blood type A could be at a greater risk of the virus.

In view of his one million Twitter followers, the host shared a report from South China Morning Post, which had the headline, ‘People with blood type A may be more vulnerable to coronavirus, China study finds’.

The report claimed research in Wuhan and Shenzhen indicated patients with the blood group had higher rate of infection and tended to get more severe symptoms.

They added: “Those with type O had a significantly lower risk for the infectious disease compared to others.”

The deadly coronavirus has affected more than 400,000 people worldwide with cases continuing to rise.

Riverdale left viewers with quite an odd cliffhanger in the last episode. After Jughead Jones (played by Cole Sprouse) outed Mr DuPont (Malcolm Stewart) as the villain he was, viewers of The CW series have been left wondering who will be taking the reins as the show’s antagonist.

Episode 17 of Riverdale season four, Wicked Little Town, is currently set to arrive on The CW on April 9.

Viewers are particularly angry about this episode not airing tonight, as it is the show’s annual musical episode.

The episode’s official description reads: “When Mr Honey forbids Kevin from performing a musical number from Hedwig and the Angry Inch, he and the gang rally against their principal – by each performing a number from Hedwig, turning the Variety Show into a full-fledged musical.”

Viewers hit out on Twitter, with one writing: “THE MUSICAL EPISODE IS POSTPONED?! #Riverdale.” (sic)
