Amber Heard is seen cuddling up to Elon Musk in the private elevator to Johnny Depp’s penthouse in exclusive new images that will drag the Tesla mogul deeper into the couple’s explosive legal battle.

Musk insists the 33-year-old actress had already split from Depp by the time they began seeing one another and their relationship didn’t become romantic ‘until some time later’.

However the Pirates of the Caribbean star accuses the pair of starting an affair one month into his 2015 marriage and has subpoenaed the billionaire for his text messages as part of a $50 million defamation case against Heard.

Now, surveillance camera images obtained by DailyMail.com capture his ex-wife cozying up to Musk as they ride the elevator at the luxury downtown LA apartment complex where she once lived with Depp.

The Space X inventor, 48, can been seen in one image draping his arms around Heard, who appears to be wearing just a swimsuit and what appears to be a towel.

She reciprocates the affection by bending over to place her hands on the leg or waist of Musk, who is in a dark T-shirt and pants or jeans.

There are no timestamps or clues as to when the pictures were taken however security guards have previously gone on record to state that Musk visited Heard on multiple occasions before and after she filed for divorce in May 2016.

Depp, 55, moved out of the Eastern Columbia Building a month after the split but Heard carried on living there until December 2016, DailyMail.com understands.

The Oscar-nominated actor owned five penthouses at the up-scale address, all accessed by the private elevator seen in the images, but later sold them for a combined $10.88 million.

He and Heard agreed to a $7 million divorce settlement in August 2016 and seemed to have put their acrimonious divorce behind them until she penned an op-ed for the Washington Post detailing her experiences as a domestic violence survivor.

The article did not mention Depp by name but he filed for defamation last March, saying it led to speculation that he was the abuser and caused him to lose the role of Captain Jack Sparrow.

His legal action further accused Heard of ‘spending time in a new relationship’ with Musk almost immediately after their wedding in February 2015.

‘Only one calendar month after Mr. Depp and Ms. Heard were married – while Mr. Depp was out of the country, filming in March 2015 – Eastern Columbia Building personnel testified that Ms. Heard received Musk ”late at night” at Mr. Depp’s penthouse,’ the suit alleges.

‘Specifically, Ms. Heard asked staff at the Eastern Columbia Building to give her ”friend Elon” access to the building’s parking garage and the penthouse elevator ”late at night,” and they testified that they did so.

‘Building staff would then see Ms. Heard’s ”friend Elon” leaving the building the next morning.’

Depp doubled down by subpoenaing Musk for any texts, emails, letters or communications he exchanged with Heard during their marriage or anything mentioning alleged incidents of domestic violence.

He specifically wants to know what she told the tech tycoon about the May 21, 2016 blowout fight that resulted in Heard seeking a restraining order, accusing Depp of hurling a phone at her and beating her.

Depp has always argued that he was the victim of an ‘elaborate hoax’ instigated by his ex-wife, who ‘faked’ her injuries with makeup.

Around two months after the break-up Heard was linked to Musk in tabloid reports suggesting they spent a weekend together in Miami.

The following April she was photographed holding hands with the dad-of-six, who divorced Westworld actress Talulah Riley in January 2015.

However the relationship was on and off until the couple finally called it quits in 2018.

Heard’s lawyers have previously described Depp’s allegation of infidelity as ‘frivolous’ and an attempt to ‘silence’ the Aquaman actress.

Sources close to Musk described it as ‘irrelevant nonsense’ and declined to comment beyond reiterating a statement issued by the entrepreneur’s rep last March.

‘Elon and Amber didn’t start seeing each other until May 2016, and even then it was infrequent,’ Musk’s spokesman said. ‘Their relationship didn’t become romantic until some time later.’

Musk made a further cameo last week in London’s High Court where Depp is also suing News Group Newspapers over a 2018 article in The Sun newspaper that described him as ‘wife beater’.

The court was read a text message from Depp to a friend that made an apparent reference to Musk: ‘Brother, I’m sorry to even ask but she sucked mollusc’s crooked d*** and he gave her some sh**y lawyers.

‘I have no mercy left of what I thought was love for this gold-digging, low level, dime-a-dozen mushy, pointless, flappy fish market.’

Actor James Franco is another A-lister caught up in the ex-couple’s legal war after he was pictured riding the same elevator with Heard on May, 22, 2016, the night after her infamous dust-up with Depp.

Heard’s legal team said Franco once lived in the same apartment complex and was simply taking the elevator at the same time.

But Depp’s lawyers hit him with a subpoena last July and want to grill him over what the pair discussed and whether she had any visible bruises.

Depp and Heard met on the set of The Rum Diary, back in 2011, married four years later – then split in a little over a year amid a slew of blood curdling domestic violence allegations and tabloid headlines.

Heard wrote in her December 2018 op-ed: ‘I became a public figure representing domestic abuse, and I felt the full force of our culture’s wrath for women who speak out.’

That prompted Depp to file for defamation in Virginia, where the Washington Post is based, stating: ‘Ms. Heard is not a victim of domestic abuse; she is a perpetrator.’

Heard responded with a 300-page filing of her own, cataloging the years of alleged abuse she suffered at the hands of ‘the monster’. The case is due to be heard in August.

‘Elon Musk and Amber Heard seem not to know that Mr. Depp’s penthouse elevator button that says ‘M’ does not take you to Mars,’ Depp’s lawyer Adam Waldman said of our exclusive pictures.

‘Musk – aka Penthouse Guy – has publicly denied sneaking up to see Ms Heard a month after her marriage to Johnny but that will soon be put to the test, as will her entire abuse hoax.

‘As the evidence mounts up, who was where, and knew what, when?’

Elon Musk buys 1,255 coronavirus ventilators to help US response as Ford and Tesla ramp up production – The Sun

ELON Musk is helping America battle coronavirus by buying 1,255 much needed ventilators for stricken patients struggling to breathe for themselves.

The SpaceX and Tesla founder, 48, said he had snapped up the machines from China and had them shipped to the United States.

⚠️ Read our coronavirus live blog for the latest news & updates

Yesterday coronavirus deaths topped more than 100 in just one day for the first time and total deaths exceeded 500.

About 200 million Americans were under lockdowns amid the COVID-19 pandemic, as total cases in the US climbed to more than 43,000 with at least 533 deaths in 34 states.

Hospitals are already reporting they are overstretched, but wards are bracing themselves for a huge influx of coronavirus patients with severe breathing problems which has prompted the urgent call for more ventilators.

But in a tweet Musk revealed he has come to the rescue, explaining how China "had an oversupply, so we bought 1255 FDA-approved ResMed, Philips & Medtronic ventilators on Friday night & airshipped them to LA".

He added: "If you want a free ventilator installed, please let us know!"

The tech wizard also thanked his Tesla team in China as well as customs for "acting so swiftly" in importing the life-saving medical equipment.

'HEROIC EFFORT'

His tweets came after California Gov Gavin Newsom announced in a press conference that Musk had made good a promise and praised it as "an heroic effort".

He said: "Elon Musk: how about this? I told you a few days ago he was likely to have 1,000 ventilators this week.

"They arrived in Los Angeles and Elon Musk is already working with the hospital association and others to get those ventilators out in real time."

Authorities are hoping large-scale manufacturers can use their low-cost supply chains and digital design expertise.

This includes 3D printing, and repurpose some factories in order to make up the expected shortfall in vital medical hardware.

Ventilators are not difficult, but cannot be produced instantly

Donald Trump said on Sunday that US automakers GM, Ford Motor Co, and Tesla Inc had been given the green light to produce ventilators and other items needed during the coronavirus outbreak.

When a Twitter user asked how many ventilators Musk’s Telsa planned on making, the tech mogul replied: "Tesla makes cars with sophisticated hvac systems. SpaceX makes spacecraft with life support systems.

"Ventilators are not difficult, but cannot be produced instantly. Which hospitals have these shortages you speak of right now?"

General Motors is exploring the production of ventilators at a facility in Kokomo, Indiana.

The automaker said it's working around the clock with Ventec Life Systems of Washington State to build more of the critical medical devices.

GM spokesman Dan Flores said he can't comment on how many more ventilators Ventec will make or how soon they will come.

But American carmakers have cautioned that assembling delicate medical equipment to standards adequate for use in hospital intensive care units remains a challenge.

Elon Musk's SpaceX will launch a NASA mission to a metal rich asteroid

Jackpot rock: Elon Musk’s SpaceX will launch a NASA mission to an asteroid with enough precious metal to make everyone on Earth a billionaire

  • Psyche 16 is about 150 miles across and believed to be made of nickel and iron
  • Scientists believe it is the remnants of the rocky core of a long dead planet
  • The mission will launch on top of the SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket in July 2022
  • It is expected to arrive at the mysterious metallic asteroid in 2026 where it will enter into an orbit for nearly two years to study its topography

NASA has announced Elon Musk owned SpaceX as the company to launch a mission to the £8,000 quadrillion space rock made up of the core of a long dead planet.

There are so many precious metals buried within the asteroid that it could make every single person on Earth a billionaire if it were to be returned to the planet.

NASA says the mission will explore Psyche 16, a ‘giant mysterious metallic asteroid’, that could help shed light on how rocky planets are formed in our solar system.

The $117 million (£93 million) mission will launch on a Falcon Heavy rocket in July 2022 from Cape Canaveral, Florida for the rock orbiting between Mars and Jupiter.

In this rendering, NASA depicts a spacecraft that is capable of traveling to a distant hunk of iron and nickel that scientists say could be a planetary core

Psyche 16 was originally discovered in 1852 and is believed to be the remnants of a protoplanet destroyed by ‘hit-and-run collisions’ when the solar system was forming.

Unlike other rocky or icy bodies, Psyche 16 – spanning 150 miles across – is suspected to be made of mostly iron and nickel.

There will be no mining of the space rock, in fact NASA won’t even be landing on the surface – it’s purely scientific – and no samples will be returned to Earth.

WHAT ARE THE MISSION OBJECTIVES?

  • Determine whether Psyche is a core, or if it is unmelted material
  • Determine the relative ages of regions of Psyche’s surface
  • Determine whether small metal bodies incorporate the same light elements as are expected in the Earth’s high-pressure core
  • Determine whether Psyche was formed under conditions more oxidizing or more reducing than Earth’s core
  • Characterize Psyche’s topography

 SOURCE: NASA JPL

Lindy Elkins-Tanton, a planetary scientist calculated that the iron in 16 Psyche alone, would be worth $10,000 quadrillion (£8,072 quadrillion).

If this were returned to Earth it would cause the value of precious metals to plummet, completely devaluing all holdings including those of governments.

Ultimately, it could lead to the collapse of the entire economy, she said.

It also includes a number of other rare metals, including gold, platinum and copper.

The primary materials are iron and nickel, the same materials found in Earth’s core and possibly the core of every other rocky planet.

By examining the planet, scientists hope to get a glimpse into the solar system’s nascent past, when massive collisions were commonplace.

Using a host of instruments like a gamma ray and neutron spectrometer, the craft will also be taking more precise readings of the rocks composition.

The goal will be to determine how old the asteroid is and whether it was formed the same way Earth was.

Aside from the primary objective of investigating 16 Psyche, the initiative will also test out a new kind of communications system that uses lasers to encode data in photons rather than radio waves in order to communicate with Earth.

The system will allows communications between a probe in deep space and Earth and is able to transfer more data at once than other more traditional methods.

While similar objects have been observed throughout the universe, Psyche is uncharacteristically close to Earth, making it ideal for study.

The mission is being led by Arizona State University and NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory who will manage the mission and navigation.

The payload being launched by SpaceX includes an imager, mangetometer to measure the magnetic field and a gamma-ray spectrometer.

The secrets of our own planet could be unlocked thanks to the mission, according to NASA scientists, who say it appears remarkably similar to the Earth’s core.

The Psyche mission may offer insight into how planets are formed over time and could help solidify inferences about our early solar system.

‘Deep within rocky, terrestrial planets – including Earth – scientists think there  are large solid metallic cores.

WHAT IS THE TIMELINE AND WHAT ARE THE KEY EVENTS?

KEY EVENTS

  • Launch: 2022
  • Solar electric cruise: 3.5 years
  • Arrival at Psyche: 2026
  • Observation Period: 21 months in orbit, mapping and studying Psyche’s properties

TIMELINE

  • 2022 – Launch of Psyche spacecraft from Kennedy Space Center, Florida
  • 2023 – Mars Flyby of Psyche spacecraft
  • 2026 – Psyche spacecraft arrives in asteroid’s orbit
  • 2026-2027 – Psyche spacecraft orbits the Psyche asteroid

‘These lie unreachably far below the planets’ rocky mantles and crusts,’ NASA wrote on the Psyche project website.

‘Because we cannot see or measure Earth’s core directly, Psyche offers a unique window into the violent history of collisions that created terrestrial planets.’

The main objectives of the mission will see it examine the rocky asteroid to see how similar – or disimilar – it is to what we think the Earth’s core is like.

It will determine the relative ages of the regions of its surface, whether small metal bodies incorporate the light elements as expected int he Earth’s high-pressure core and whether it was formed under conditions similar to the Earth.

They will also map and characterise the topography of the metalic core fragment.

While the primary goal is to look at the core of Psyche 16, the payload being sent up by SpaceX will also include equipment for two other scientific missions.

One will see it examine the Martian atmosphere while it makes its flybe and another, called Janus will see it study binary asteroids.

It’s due to launch in 2022, make a flyby of Mars in 2023 and then begin orbiting Psyche 16 in 2026 to 2027.

THE METAL WORLD OF  16 PSYCHE

16 Psyche is located in the large asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter, and may have started as a planet, before it was partially destroyed during the formation of the solar system.

Now, it is a 130 mile (200km) wide chunk of metal, made up of iron, nickel and a number of other rare metals, including gold, platinum and copper.

As such, it offers a unique look into the violent collisions that created Earth and the terrestrial planets.

The mission team seeks to determine whether Psyche is the core of an early planet, how old it is, whether it formed in similar ways to Earth’s core, and what its surface is like.

The spacecraft’s instrument payload will include magnetometers, multispectral imagers, and a gamma ray and neutron spectrometer.

Why are asteroids worth so much?

It may be 230 million miles (370 million km) away from Earth, but this asteroid could be worth a small fortune.

16 Psyche is one of the most mysterious objects in our solar system, and scientists could soon be getting a close-up view thanks to a newly confirmed Nasa mission.

If the asteroid could be transported back to Earth, the iron alone would be worth $10,000 quadrillion (£8,072 quadrillion).

It’s value would be large enough to destroy commodity prices and cause the world’s economy – worth $73.7 trillion (£59.5 trillion) – to collapse.

Dr Elkins-Tanton has calculated that the iron in 16 Psyche alone, would be worth $10,000 quadrillion (£8,072 quadrillion).

Assuming the market for asteroid materials is on Earth, this could cause the value of precious metals to plummet, completely devaluing all holdings including those of governments, and all companies involved in mining, distributing and trading such commodities.
