May 18, 1955: Vincent Chin, Who Was Killed in a Hate Crime, Is Born
The Chinese-British actor, best known for his playing Inspector Clouseau’s manservant Cato in the Pink Panther films, died at 85. He also had a long television career, appearing on shows like The Avengers and Doctor Who.
Kwouk was awarded an Order of the British Empire (OBE) in 2011 for services in drama before passing away.
Tristan Thompson has filed a lawsuit against Kimberly Alexander for her paternity claims against him.
In the libel suit, obtained by Page Six, Thompson, 29, claims Alexander “is a wannabe social media influencer and pornographic model/performer who is so desperate to achieve her fifteen minutes of fame that she recently fabricated a false claim that NBA star/Cleveland Cavaliers center/power forward Thompson is the father of her nearly five-year-old son.”
The suit, by the Thompson’s attorney Marty Singer, contends that, while the results of Thompson’s recent DNA test conclusively determined Alexander’s child is not Thompson’s, “Alexander has persisted in publicly proclaiming that Thompson is her child’s father and she has maliciously accused Thompson of being a deadbeat dad, ‘neglecting’ and failing to take financial responsibility for the child since birth.
“To quote Michael Jackson,” Singer’s filing quips, “‘the kid is not [his] son.’”
Also at the heart of the suit is Alexander’s claim that Khloé Kardashian, 35, and Thompson somehow tampered with the results of the first paternity test. The filing includes plenty of shots at Alexander, including her apartment-rental history. Thompson is seeking damages and court costs.
On Friday, Alexander took to social media after Thompson and Kardashian sent her a cease and desist letter.
“I’m not hurting for no money loves. I want #truth,” she wrote.
A brilliant tip for locking iPhone screens has been shared by a mum who doesn’t want her kids fiddling with the settings.
By activating the ‘Guided Access’ mode, it’s possible to disable the touchscreen on an iPhone without turning off the display.
It means parents can hand an iPhone to their kids to watch a YouTube video without fear of them getting into the phone’s other apps. The setting can be found in any iOS device, so it works with iPads as well.
The trick was shared on Facebook where it quickly picked up thousands of likes. It was also shared more than 128,000 times.
Labelling it a public service announcement, the tech-savvy mum wrote: ‘Those if you with iPhones…if you turn on Guided Access, you can hand your phone to baby when they’re watching a show and they’ can’t hit any buttons!
‘It locks it in that app. To turn off guided access, you have to triple click the home button (so it’s not easily done).’
How to use Guided Access to lock an iPhone touchscreen
If you have an iPhone (or iPad) go into the Settings menu and find the ‘General’ tab.
Scroll down to Accessibility and tap it, then go to the bottom to find the option to toggle on Guided Access.
Once you’ve toggled it on, all you need to do is triple-click the power switch (or Home button if you’re using an older iPhone or iPad) to enable it.
Now you can hand the phone over to your partner, child or pet without worrying about them poking and prodding through your phone.
What would we do without trash bags? They’re an item that have been on your essentials list for years, and while they may not be the most exciting thing to shop for, you’ve got to get them one way or another. However, if you’re not in love with your smelly trash bags that rip by just poking a water bottle slightly to the side, discovering strong and quite possibly amazing scented ones will change your life.
Trash bags (and cans) have gotten way more innovative over the years. So much, that trash cans have become a fashion statement in a sense from rose gold colors to Alexa-compatible versions, they’ve kind of become mini computers in a sense. But without a reliable trash bag to keep them clean and the garbage contained, they’d be useless. To save your house from smelling like a land fill, it’s a wise idea to invest in strong and even scented bags that will make taking the trash out a lot more pleasant. Below, we’ve rounded up the best trash bags so you don’t have to plug your nose every time you step near the garbage.
1. Simplehuman Drawstring Bags
If you have a Simplehuman trash can, congrats — you’ve already made the first step into the innovative trash can world. Simplehuman has completely changed the trash can experience for good, thanks to its smart bag-coding system. Each trash can pairs with a specific type of bag, coded by a letter, so you get a snug-tight bag that has no chance of falling on itself inside the can. These drawstring bags are completely hidden when the lid is shut, so you don’t have to think about the trash that’s underneath it.
2. Glad Bags
The number one culprit of trash can anxiety is no doubt leaks. Not only can they leave a trail of unknown messes around the house that you’ll find dried a week later, but they just smell downright horrible too. These strong trash bags are no match for leaks, so you can worry about actual things you have to take care of. These 13-gallon bags feature a clean scent, too, so it’ll cover up the compilation of smells from all the items you have in the trash. The diamond design allows these tall bags to stretch at the top, while the reinforced bands hold the bulk in the middle. That way, you won’t have leaks or rips.
3. Hefty Bags
Just as the name suggests, these trash bags are just as durable and strong as you can find. Powered by a delightful lavender and vanilla scent, you might actually enjoy taking the trash out now. Made with special technology, these strong bags have plenty of stretch to prevent rips and leaks. The secure-grip drawstring fits nice against the trash can, so you don’t have to see unsightly trash bags when the lid is closed (and they won’t slide down into the bin).
Like many people, John Legend, Chrissy Teigen and their kids, Luna and Miles, are social distancing amid the global coronavirus pandemic. The 41-year-old EGOT winner reflected on this time for a cover story in GQ Hype published Monday.
“I feel like we’ve adjusted pretty well,” he told the publication. “We’re fortunate, of course. We have the resources to deal with everything we need to deal with in a pretty painless way. We have our family unit and we love our kids and love hanging out with them. And they especially love being home with us 24/7. We’re making the best of a wild situation.”
So, how have the famous family members been staying busy? For one thing, the singer said he and his 4-year-old daughter and 1-year-old son “have a dance party almost every day.” The topic came up after Legend was asked how people are consuming music differently and how the COVID-19 pandemic is impacting music releases.
“I heard from our record label early on that in the first couple of weeks consumption was down a little bit on streaming sites, but I don’t know if that has been the case throughout,” he replied. “You can imagine there being changes in the way people listen to music when you change your lifestyle, the things you’re doing. You’re driving less; you’re working out at the gym less. There are times when people listen to music that are not happening, so who knows? My kids and I have a dance party almost every day, so we listen to music a lot at home, but maybe some families don’t have that kind of time for music baked in at home, whereas they would be listening to music at other times, like when they drive their kids to school.”
The “All of Me” star acknowledged “it’s been crazy” on the career side, noting “we have all this new music that we were preparing to put out and you just never know how all of it affects how people are going to receive it.”
“Will they receive it differently?” Legend, who is set to release his album Bigger Love in the future, told the magazine. “And then, of course, we’ve had to cancel all kinds of performances. We just don’t know what’s going to happen. I do know that I have a lot of music that I want people to hear and we’re finishing the album up and we still want to put it out reasonably soon. But when it comes to doing all of the things you would do to support an album in the presence of other people, that might not happen for a while.”
Still, Legend has tried to stay positive and bring some joy to his fans. Whether he’s performing an at-home concert or hosting a wedding for his firstborn’s toys, the celebrity has shared little moments to help brighten his followers’ day. Teigen has also posted many of the crew’s adorable (and at times hilarious) moments on social media.
Of course, this should come as no surprise to their fans. The proud parents have been capturing their loved ones’ cutest moments on Instagram for years. To look back at a few of their sweetest snapshots, check out the gallery above.
Fans can read Legend’s full interview by checking out the new issue of GQ Hype.

NCIS: Los Angeles star LL CoolJ is known not only for his skills as a rapper but also an actor. Here’s thereal reason he decided to become an actor.
LL Cool J’s movies and TV shows
LL Cool J made his first movie appearance in the 1985 film Krush Groove, in which he sang the song, “I Can’t Live Without My Radio.” In 1986 he appeared in the movie Wildcats. By 1991, the rapper played Billy in the film The Hard Way, starring actors Michael J. Fox and James Woods.
In 1995, LL Cool J landed his own TV show, titled In theHouse. He played the character Marion Hill until the series ended in 1999. Hisother acting roles include appearances in Any Given Sunday, In TooDeep, House, and 30 Rock. LL Cool J began playing the role ofSam Hanna on NCIS: Los Angeles in 2009.
Why LL Cool J joined the ‘NCIS: Los Angeles’ cast
The rapper and actor told Harry Smith, former host of CBS’ TheEarly Show, he decided to join the NCIS: Los Angeles cast because hewas looking to do something different with his career. “You could do a bunch ofdifferent things. You had so much success doing many different things. To hitchyourself, your identity, your future, to something like this is not a decisionthat’s easily made. Why did you do it?” asked the host. LL Cool J spoke aboutan acting experience he had that convinced him to join the show:
I had a great experience on another drama. I did the season opener of another drama a few seasons ago and I caught the bug. I really wanted to act, and I wanted to act on a regular basis. And I wanted to challenge myself and allow myself to go on another level and allow myself to mature and experience something new in my life.
And part of that maturity process is not continuing to do the same things that you’ve always done. So, I decided to commit to this show, commit to what I thought was a great team. I believe in the NCIS brand and hopefully people will enjoy the show.
Why LL Cool J decided to become an actor
During an interview on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, the host asks LL Cool J why he wanted to become an actor. LL Cool J already hada successful acting career, so why did he choose to make the switch? Here’swhat the star said:
I didn’t want to limit myself. I felt like I had the ability. I’ll even be more candid. The first time I went to a record company, I said, ‘You know, I’m thinking about doing a new record. I’d like to get an advance, get a check on a record. And the guy started adjusting himself in his seat. And I said, I’m not going to be handcuffed to his game.
I said, I have to be able to do different things. I have the talent, I have the ability—with humility—but if I have the talent and the ability to do something, I’m going after my dreams, period. I’m not going to be doing one thing just to be doing it.

Asked the secret to her six-year marriage with John Legend—a union that inspires countless #RelationshipGoals tweets—Chrissy Teigen told Vogue in 2017, “Taking super sexy photos like this.”
Lest anyone get it twisted, though, the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit cover model promptly popped a set of false monster fangs in her mouth and snapped a grimacing selfie.
Because, let’s be clear, it’s that willingness to poke fun at themselves (and each other) that’s made the 10-time Grammy winner, 41, and the model-turned-television host the envy of the Internet. And the reason why when Teigen joked recently that they were “def breaking up after we can leave the house,” the overwhelming response was, as one fan put it, “OH THE HELL THEY ARE.”
For every list touting all the times the Lip Sync Battle star, 34, took a playful swipe at her husband, there are countless other reasons the couple are as well-matched as they appear on Twitter.
A post shared by chrissy teigen (@chrissyteigen) on
For starters, the parents Luna, marking her fourth birthday today, and 23-month-old Miles haven’t fallen victim to the competitive nature that dooms other Hollywood pair. As Teigen began collecting magazine covers, book deals and hosting gigs, her multi-hyphenate spouse (hello, EGOT!) was “supportive and happy and proud,” she told Cosmopolitan. “I’m with someone who is totally secure in himself. He’s not trying to be anything other than what he is.”
But for Teigen’s sake, the Ivy League grad will happily binge watch The Real Housewives of Dallas. She, in turn, will dive into an MSNBC report he finds enthralling. More than a decade and two kids in—one insider tells E! News the duo feel the May 2018 arrival of son Miles makes their family feel complete, with Teigen musing to E! News, “I got my girl, I got my boy. They’re perfect. I love them”—her top takeaway is surprisingly simple. The key to relationship success, she recently told In Style, is to “make each other’s loves and needs feel important.”

Before their Italian vows, before Teigen gushed to E! News about “absorbing” all of Luna’s “new little steps and new moments,” and how Miles is “just the happiest bug”, they were just two attractive people eating In-N-Out burgers in a hotel room. Back in 2006 rising star Legend (he already had two albums and three Grammys to his name) was on the hunt for a model to film his “Stereo” music video when the director suggested a little-known 21-year-old Billabong stunner.
Arriving on set—precisely seven years and one day before their wedding—Teigen walked into Legend’s dressing room to introduce herself. “He was ironing in his underwear,” she recalled to Cosmopolitan. “I said, ‘You do your own ironing!?’ He said, ‘Of course I do.’ I gave him a hug.”
Throughout the 14-hour shoot, the pair maintained that comfortable banter. “We spent the whole day dancing together, grinding together,” Legend told The Guardian. “And, uh, we made a music video.”

Teigen, as always, was more forthcoming. After returning to his hotel room for a fast food feast, she recalled to Cosmopolitan, “We hooked up.”
So, okay, it wasn’t love at first sight. But, as Legend told L.A. Confidential, he’s far too cautious to dive in like that. “I wasn’t like, ‘This is the woman I’m going to marry,’ from day one,” he said. “For me, I’m the kind of person who needs to grow into that feeling.”
In other words, their romance was relatable from the start, if you ignore the whole meeting-on-the-set-of-a-music-video thing. Also, the fact that their main obstacle was the musician’s upcoming tour.
As they kept in contact via text and phone chats, Teigen was careful not to mention the other women Legend posed with on the red carpet. “I let him be himself for a while,” she explained to Cosmopolitan. “The worst thing you can do is try to lock someone like that down early on, then have them think, there’s so much more out there. I played it cool for a long time. Never once did I ask, ‘What are we?’ Marriage was never my goal, because I’ve never been very traditional. I was just happy to be with him.”

And Legend was just happy to keep receiving her witty missives. “I started to fall in love with her over the phone because she is good with those 140 characters,” he joked to Entertainment Tonight in 2016. “We were texting a lot, and I started to see her sense of humor. We would talk on the phone, and I started to fall in love with how engaging and witty and funny she is.”
The chemistry was even better face-to-face. When they started dating for real post-tour, “I think that’s when I really started to know that this was the kind of person I wanted to be around a lot,” he said. “Once we started spending more time together between tour stops and all this other stuff, we realized we had such a connection—and then it blossomed into a marriage and a baby.”
Of course it wasn’t quite that easy. After five years of dating—including one half-hour split that Legend chalked up to being stressed and busy on tour: “I was just like: ‘I’d be happier single right now,'” he told The Guardian, “and she was like: ‘No,'”—the singer-songwriter dropped to one knee during a December 2011 holiday in the Maldives. “There was no big grand speech or anything,” Teigen shared on her now-defunct talk show FABLife, “it was just very lovely and sweet.”

They’ve already endured the “for worse” portion of their vows. Tired of being quizzed about when they’d start producing little Legends, the model, who’s said she’s so open “Sometimes I don’t ever realize I’m oversharing,” divulged the details of their fertility struggle. “I will say, honestly, John and I are having trouble,” she confessed on her talk show. “We would have kids five, six years ago if it’d happened. But my gosh, it’s been a process!”
Two rounds of IVF brought them Luna who Teigen said “sat inside me like a little cross-legged Buddha facing toward my back for nine months.” During delivery, Legend played DJ and as the first lyrics of “Superfly” played, Luna arrived. “I immediately put her on my chest,” she told Glamour. “And she had a face! I was so happy.”
That bliss quickly faded. For months after Luna’s April 2016 arrival, Teigen suffered through undiagnosed postpartum depression. “Most days were spent on the exact same spot on the couch and rarely would I muster up the energy to make it upstairs for bed,” she described in an essay for Glamour. “John would sleep on the couch with me, sometimes four nights in a row. I started keeping robes and comfy clothes in the pantry so I wouldn’t have to go upstairs when John went to work. There was a lot of spontaneous crying.”
And plenty of comfort from Legend. “He is not the goofiest guy, but he has gone out of his way to indulge my sense of humor,” she wrote. “When I was having a good day, he would go to Medieval Times with me and put on the crazy period hat! He sees how much my eyes light up when he does that stuff, and he knows that’s what I need. I know he must look over at times and think: My God, get it together. But he has never made me feel that way.”
That support—paired with Luna’s general overall adorableness and Teigen’s desire to have a son because “they say that boys just love their mamas”—is what made the Cravings author eager to dive back into pregnancy. “I really want to just knock ’em out,” she told E! News. “That’s my dream, I want to just be pregnant kind of for the rest of my life.”
Well, not quite. “But the rest of my fertile life,” she clarified. “So we’ll see.”
She was prepared should she face postpartum again. “Do I worry about it with this little boy? I do,” she admitted. “But I also know that when it does happen—if it does—I’m so ready for it. I have the perfect people around me for it. That’s why I stand for a real core group of people around me.”
Heading up Team Teigen, as always, is the “Love Me Now” singer. Sure, she’s the first one to take a dig at Legend, “but I will say he is an amazing human being,” she told E! News.
To her, his list of attributes is lengthy. “He has seen me at my worst, but I will say I don’t think I have ever seen him at his,” she has said. “He’s exactly as compassionate, patient, loving and understanding as he seems.”
As if to prove that, he gave E! News his take on Teigen’s postpartum confession, revealing how blown away he was by her op-ed.
“She showed me the drafts when she was writing it and I knew it would mean a lot to a lot of women for them to see that,” he told E! News at the time. “By acknowledging the pain that she’s going through, in doing that she also acknowledges the pain that a lot of women go through after they have a child. A lot of people don’t want to talk about it. A lot of people feel alone when they’re going through it and for her to let people know that they’re not alone, I think was really powerful.”
No matter what she decides to tackle next, he’ll be hollering from the sideline. “I’m her biggest cheerleader,” he told Vanity Fair in their recent cover profile. “I always think she should do more.” And if some days she’d rather dig into a Real Housewives marathon or recreate TLC’s Four Weddings on a random weekday, well, he’s down for that too.
Because at the end of the day, he knows he got a pretty good draw. “She’s the one. It’s clear!” he raved to People of his wife of nearly seven years. “We have great chemistry. She makes me laugh all the time. She’s a wonderful mother. She’s my best friend.”
Fallon’s guests share in the family’s excitement as Winnie shows off her new gap and gives the breakdown of just exactly how it happened.
Jimmy Fallon’s daughters are the gifts that keep on giving, and once again on Tuesday life got in the way of him trying to simply do the job of putting together a late-night talk show from his house. As always, though, the interruptions are just too precious!
This time, though, it was a milestone moment for his youngest daughter Winnie as she’d just lost a tooth … as in the moment went down even as Jimmy was talking with his guests Ciara and Russell Wilson. Russell was talking about the important charitable work that he’s involved with, and how his organizations are giving back during the coronavirus pandemic when Winnie suddenly ran into the room.
Jimmy tried to hold her off for a moment until he’d processed what she just said. "Daddy, I lost my tooth," she told him. And just like that, he had to put the interview on pause to address her excitement. But as parents themselves, Ciara and Russell were just as thrilled with the major moment as Jimmy.
Ciara asked Winnie how it happened, and it turns out there was more going on behind the scenes than just a random tooth loss. "Mommy put a string around my tooth and she tried to pull it out and then it worked," Winnie explained simply.
So while Jimmy was talking with his guests about how they’re adjusting to life inside, life was going on right outside the room for him and his family.
Calling it the "new normal," Ciara and Russell said they’ve had to get used to kids interrupting their video meetings and pretty much everything else.
Like many parents across the nation, they’ve stepped up as teacher’s aides (and sometimes teacher) with Russell subbing in as the gym coach and Ciara even teaching her entire family how to dance … her entire family.
"How are Russell’s moves on the dance floor?" Jimmy asked her.
"He’s got his nice little– he’s a good pocket dancer," she finally replied.
"Hey, I’m in the pocket, you know what I’m saying?" Russell smiled, though we’re not quite sure that’s what she was trying to say.
"He’s got his nice little groove that he goes to and he does it very well," Ciara said.
Jimmy is actually settling into a nice groove of his own with these "At Home" editions of "The Tonight Show." The barely controlled chaos of him at home with his family has been an absolute delight to watch and given a fresh new energy to his show. Plus, we are all absolutely in love with his daughters Winnie and Franny.
As much as we want the world to go back to the way it was, we could almost enjoy seeing an "At Home" tonight show on a regular basis once things do settle down. Maybe Jimmy could film his Friday shows from home, or at least check back in from time to time.
We’re going to miss his girls, his cool slide and playhouse, the amazing "graphics" created by his daughter … really everything about it.
Move aside Thanos, there is a more powerful villain headed to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. New leaks related to Marvel’s upcoming movie, The Eternals, may have revealed the MCU’s next big antagonist. Which iconic villain will be taking Thanos’ place as Marvel heads into Phase 4?
Will ‘The Eternals’ debut a more powerful villain than Thanos?
A fan theory suggests that the superheroes in The Eternals will be fighting a more powerful villain than Thanos. Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) defeated the MCU’s former big bad by snapping him out of existence in Avengers: Endgame.
In the comics, the Celestialscreated the Eternals after experimenting with the genetic code of humans. Theirsuccessful experiments led to the Eternals while their failures created a groupknown as the Deviants.
Marvel has already confirmed that the Deviants will play acentral role in the film, which likely means that fans will be introduced tosomeone who is more powerful than Thanos.
We still do not know which of the Deviants will appear in themovie, but a new leak teases the identity of the project’s main villain.
Leak teases a more powerful villain than Thanos
Marvel has kept a tight lid on spoilers for Phase 4, but a newline of Funko Pop! toys may have revealed the identity of future characters inthe MCU.
According to We Got This Covered, a list of future tie-in toys were allegedly leaked on social media, and one of the names on the list belongs to the Deviant named Kro. If the information is accurate, then it looks like we will be introduced to the leader of the Deviants in The Eternals.
As the group’s leader, Kro is often portrayed as a horned,red-skinned being reminiscent of the Devil. He is also an immortal creature anda shapeshifter.
Another name on the list of toys is Arisham, who is the head ofthe Celestials. If Arisham makes an appearance in the film, he will likely befeatured in a flashback scene to help explain the group’s origins.
As a side note, Thanos’ parents were both Eternals, though he wasa carrier of the Deviants gene.
Has Marvel already teased ‘The Eternals’?
Over the first three phases of the MCU, Marvel has done an excellent job planning future developments. This includes faking Bucky Barnes’ death in Captain America: The First Avenger and introducing Thanos at the end of The Avengers.
With that in mind, Marvel has already teased the Eternals inprevious movies. The first mention of a Celestial, for example, was in Guardiansof the Galaxy Vol. 2.
As fans will recall, Ego (Kurt Russell) called himself aCelestial when he was talking about his origins with Peter Quill (Chris Pratt).
Fast forward to Thor: Ragnarok and a space ship in one of the scenes looks awfully close to the vessel the Eternals use in the comics. We cannot say for sure that the ship is linked to the Eternals, but the resemblance is definitely there.
These references are admittedly very subtle, but there is a goodchance Marvel will further expound on them in the upcoming film, especiallyconsidering how the movie will span thousands of years.
Inside the Marvel Phase 4 delays
Luckily, filming for The Eternals wrapped up prior to the coronavirus pandemic. Even still, filmmakers are working hard to get through the post-production work as most companies are under a lockdown.
Marvel has already delayed several projects related to the coronavirus, including Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan’s Falcon and the Winter Soldier and Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow, the latter of which was scheduled to premiere in theaters on May 1.
Black Widow has officially been pushed back until November, which could push back the premiere of The Eternals. Hopefully, thingsget under control in the near future and Marvel does not have to switch up itsPhase 4 schedule too much.
The Eternals, directed by Chloe Zhao and starring the likes of Angelina Jolie, Kit Harington, Richard Madden, Kumail Nanjiani, Gemma Chan, and Salma Hayek, is set to open in theaters in November.
