Tyson Fury in talks with Hollywood over movie about his up-and-down life… and Brit wants Denzel Washington to play him – The Sun

TYSON FURY has admitted his dream is to have Denzel Washington play him in a Hollywood movie about his life.

The Gypsy King revealed he has had many offers to feature his incredible comeback from his mental health struggles to the top of boxing on the big screen.

The 31-year-old – one of Britain’s most outlandish and flamboyant sports stars – drew many plaudits for turning his life around after battling drug addiction and depression.

The 6ft 9in heavyweight ballooned to a whopping 28st at his heaviest during his two-year absence from the ring.

But in an incredible turnaround, Fury battled back to eventually claim the WBC belt from Deontay Wilder at the second time of asking in February to cap one of the greatest sporting comebacks.

And the Mancunian admitted he has since been inundated by offers to have his career given the feature film treatment.

Fury, who claimed A-List star Denzel was the "only man" capable of playing him back in 2018, doubled down on his ambition to have the Training Day actor take on the role.

He told BT Sport: “I’m in talks with Hollywood movie directors now for ‘The Tyson Fury Life Story’. They asked me like, ‘Who would you want to play [you]’, and I said, ‘Obviously Denzel’.

He has got enough to play anybody! I’m not sure if he can do the husky voice, though! You need to punch him in the throat for that one!

“I’ve always said Denzel [Washington]. And then everybody… laughed about it. Whatever. Well, I’d love to finalize who’s gonna be the actor.”

Two-time Oscar winner Denzel already has experience playing boxers following his role as Rubin Carter in 1999's The Hurricane.

But despite the veteran actor turning 66 this year, Fury admitted his one reservation doesn't concern the American's age.

The Brit added: “He [Denzel] has got enough to play anybody! I’m not sure if he can do the husky voice, though! You need to punch him in the throat for that one!”

Fury himself revealed last year that he has been offered a Hollywood role in a Sylvester Stallone blockbuster.

In addition to his boxing success, the Gypsy King has released an autobiography, a fitness book, a song with Robbie Williams and made his WWE debut.

He said: “I’ve got things going on. I’ve been offered quite a few different things. Parts on a couple of well-known series, yes? Very well known, which I can’t divulge [in] because I might just do it, yeah? And it will be a big surprise.

“We’ve even been in talks with ITV for a second “Gypsy King” series. Yeah, a lot of things happening. But at the moment, nothing can be thought about really seriously. Because there is nothing really happening right now.”

DEAR DEIDRE: MY girlfriend and her ex have long phone chats and it does my head in when she says how good he was in bed.

We are both 24 and she is expecting my baby. I don’t have a car and she wants me to call her ex when she goes into labour so he can take us to the hospital.

I have said I will call a cab or ambulance but I feel so uneasy. She swears she loves me and just used him for sex. But I know he still has feelings for her though she insists he is just a friend.

Gogglebox star stuns fans with 'unrecognisable' throwback snap

Gogglebox star Tom Malone Jr has stunned fans after he shared an ‘unrecognisable’ throwback snap of himself.

Tom Jr shared two photos of himself side by side on Twitter as he asked his followers: ‘Do these two pictures even look like the same person?’

One photo is from now and shows Tom sporting his trademark beard and shaved head (and to be honest he looks just like his dad Tom Sr).

Sorry Tom.

While the other photo shows a rather baby-faced looking Tom, where he is clean-shaven and is donning a rather impressive quiff.

Fans were clearly stunned by the throwback pics, and one even compared him to Superman.

One tweeted: ‘It’s like the good twin and the bad twin.’

Another commented: ‘Clark Kent and Superman.’

While one added: ‘No. They don’t look the same person.’

‘Hell no,’ another said.

Either way Tom, you look great!

Tom Jr has also been keeping Gogglebox fans entertained during lockdown after he challenged one of his dogs to the Tik Tok Patience Challenge.

In a video, which he shared to social media Tom left Bob on his own in the living room with a tray of cupcakes.

And it’s safe to say poor Bob failed as it wasn’t long before he was hoovering up the sweet treats.

Gogglebox returns on Friday at 9pm on Channel 4.

Marine Corps reopen gyms with new safety precautions in place

The US Marines are starting to pump iron again, as gyms at some military installations have reopened with strict new safety measures amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Fitness centers from North Carolina’s Camp Lejeune to California’s Camp Pendleton to Quantico in Virginia have reopened their doors for active-duty Marines and first responders, the Marine Corps Times reports.

At Quantico’s Barber Physical Activity Center, visitors are restricted to a one-hour workout and face masks are required. Equipment must be wiped down after each use and social distancing guidelines are in effect, a spokeswoman said.

“We want the Marines and residents of Quantico to be able to stay fit and strong, but also maintain the safety and health of our community on base,” Quantico spokeswoman Capt. Allison Burgos told the outlet in a statement.

At Camp Pendleton, High-Intensity Tactical Training centers reopened Friday, but Marines were advised to practice 10 feet of social distancing and not to use locker rooms, showers or saunas, according to a Marine Corps Community Services website for the California base.

“Your safety is our top priority,” the website reads. “Please wash or sanitize hands prior to entering.”

Like at Quantico, face coverings are required and workouts are capped at 60 minutes at Camp Pendleton, according to the guidelines.

Active-duty Marines at Camp Lejeune were also permitted back at fitness centers on Friday, but not all gyms across the military branch have reopened. Military personnel should contact base officials for additional details, the Marine Corps reports.

Woman is left with rotting boobs after a botched breast reduction

‘We know what a dead body smells like now’: Woman reveals she was left with ROTTING boobs that smelled like ‘dying’ flesh after a botched breast reduction led to tissue necrosis

  • Esmeralda describes how she was left with a ‘hole’ in each of her breasts in a preview clip for Monday night’s episode of the E! reality series Botched
  • She explains that she decided to have a breast reduction at the age of 18 because her DDD breasts were causing her back pain
  • Esmeralda says that shortly after her surgery she started to smell something rotting through her shirt, and the tissue on her breasts looked like it was dying
  • Instead of sending her to a wound care center, her doctor spent six months removing the decaying skin, leaving a hole in each of her breasts

A woman has revealed that the tissue in her breasts started to rot and smell like dying flesh after a disastrous breast reduction.

In a preview clip for Monday night’s episode of the E! reality series Botched, Esmeralda describes how she was left with a ‘hole’ in each of her breasts after her doctor spent six months cutting out the necrotizing flesh.

‘I’ve seen a lot of breast reductions, and I’ve seen a lot of complications from them, but this is the worst complication from a breast reduction I have ever seen,’ Dr. Terry Dubrow admits.

Hard to handle: Esmeralda reveals her breasts started to rot and smell like dying flesh after a disastrous breast reduction in a preview clip for Monday night’s Botched

Necrosis: Esmeralda says that shortly after her surgery she started to smell something rotting through her shirt, and the tissue on her breasts looked like it was dying

Yikes: Instead of sending her to a wound care center, Esmeralda explains her doctor spent six months removing the decaying tissue from her breasts

During her consultation with Dr. Dubrow and his partner Dr. Paul Nassif, she explains that she decided to have a breast reduction at the age of 18 because her DDD breasts were causing her back pain.

Esmeralda, who was joined by her mother and sister, says she started to get alarmed shortly after her surgery when she started to smell something rotting.

‘The smell was coming through my shirt. That’s when I started to panic,’ she recalls. ‘I feel like we know what a dead body smells like now.’

‘The tissue looked like it was dying,’ her mom adds.

Esmeralda says her doctor assured her that they ‘can fix this,’ and each time she saw him, he would cut ‘deeper and deeper’ into her flesh to remove the dead skin.

‘For six months, I would go up to see him up to three times a week just so he could cut off the dead skin until it turned [into] like flesh, open flesh, but it was deep,’ she explains.

‘He never sent you to a wound care center?’ Dr. Dubrow asks Esmeralda, who confirmed that her original doctor had only treated her himself.

Dr. Dubrow was appalled by her first doctor’s lackadaisical approach to removing the dying tissue, saying he had wasted precious time.

‘If you have tissue necrosis and tissue loss, and you need to treat it by surgical removal, you have to do it very aggressively and very quickly,’ he says in his testimonial.

‘Otherwise, if you’re behind the 8-ball, the last thing that breast is going to be shaped like, is a billiard ball.’

The latest Botched boob job patient comes after another woman appeared on the show to fix her chest, having undergone implant surgery that left her with ‘three breasts’.

Sandra, a mother-of-three from California, called herself ‘the three boobed lady’ after botched surgery left her with misshapen breasts, which doctors Dubrow and Nassif were thankfully able to repair during surgery.

Swimming nose-to-nose with your greatest fear

Swimming nose-to-nose with your greatest fear: Georgie Codd had an irrational fear of fish… until she took a scuba course in Thailand and swam with a shark

  • Georgie Codd writes about her journey to overcoming an irrational fear of fish
  • She spends all her savings on travelling to track down a shark she can swim with
  • Georgie overcomes her fear by constantly thinking about what scares her most

by Georgie Codd (Fleet £14.99, 336pp)

I happen to be married to an ichthyophobe, so I’m familiar with the condition. Unable to bear even the sight of a goldfish, my husband avoids looking into ponds.

His summer-lunch nemesis would be a whole garnished poached salmon with its head still on, lidless eyes wide open.

So I leapt on this memoir, written by an ichthyophobe with the unfortunate name of Georgie Codd.

Like my husband, Georgie reached adulthood with an irrational fear of fish, brought on by a few minor traumatic encounters in childhood, including seeing the film Jaws.

Unlike my husband, who lives with the condition, Georgie decided to set about conquering her phobia.

Georgie Codd has written a novel about getting over her irrational fear of fish (file image)

Learning from her friend who did a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy course to overcome her arachnophobia, Georgie embarks on a self-imposed regime of thinking about fish, ‘staying with her fear’ rather than running from it, to face it down.

Never one to do things by halves, she sets her heart on swimming in the Indian Ocean with one of the world’s most monstrous fish, the 20-tonne whale shark.

‘I want to look into its eyes and say: “I’m not afraid.” ’

(‘Don’t tell me any more about it,’ said my husband.)

She must be mad, you think. Why not just leave your phobia alone to fester in a corner? It soon becomes clear that it’s safety itself that Georgie is afraid of.

About to turn 30, with a job in London, a safe boyfriend and the prospect of being tied to a mortgage, Georgie has a profound urge to throw it all in and spend all her savings on attaining her self-imposed whale shark goal.

She yearns for the simplicity of life in the deep blue ocean, and for the serenity and climactic epiphany of swimming with her shark.

The only thing is, the world’s whale shark population has no idea of this, and seems particularly elusive.

This book is all about Georgie — I’ve never seen so many shoals of first-person pronouns in one place, and by the end I was desperate for Georgie to find her shark, so she (and we) could move on.

But it’s also revealing about the nature of all phobias where an irrational fear is transmuted into an irrational obsession with the thing feared. To conquer hers, Georgie begins by doing a scuba-diving course in Thailand.

When she first dives in to the Gulf of Thailand, ‘my insides retreat. I prepare for the worst — but nothing happens’. Having trained herself to think about swimming among fish, she feels remarkably untraumatised.

Being behind the ‘screen’ of her diving mask is a huge psychological help: it makes her feel she’s watching it all on television. What’s more, the fish take no notice of her.

In order to keep facing down her fear, Georgie researches the worst dangers of diving and becomes unhealthily addicted to underwater thrill stories. (Perhaps you ought to get on with acquiring that mortgage, I found myself urging her.)

She meets a ‘bathynaut’ called Dr Jon Copley, who descended one kilometre below the surface in the Antarctic in his mini-submarine.

Down there, in the ultra-high pressure, a tiny leak in the sub could cut a man in half.

WE SWIM TO THE SHARK by Georgie Codd ( Fleet £14.99, 336pp )

The advice Copley gives her is that if you spot a drop of wetness on the inside of the sub, you should taste it.

If it’s fresh water, it’s condensation. If it’s saltwater — ‘you’d better mention it’.

Time to find her whale shark now, but as so often with wildlife, when you’re looking for it, it doesn’t appear.

Georgie learns that even conservationist Jacques Cousteau only ever saw two whale sharks.

With her remaining savings, she flies all the way to Mafia Island, off the coast of Tanzania, where, on the final day, her moment comes.

She spots it from the boat: ‘My whale shark.’ She dives down.

Thirty foot long, ‘its head looks purely Jurassic: wide and solid and ancient’. It shows her no threat, and no sign of being threatened.

Miraculously, it permits her to follow it through the dappled water.

She doesn’t want it to end. But the moment is over, and now she must face life itself.
